Hello Reader, It’s here! ☺️ As you know, I've been working on something behind the scenes these last few weeks, and I’m very excited to introduce: Just TAP: Foundations 🎉 Six weeks of guided tap dance for beginners with Bill Simpson. From November 2 to December 13, a small group of tap dancers will come together online to learn – or relearn – tap dance from the very beginning. You’ll work through the fundamentals at your own pace, with six weeks of structure, guidance, personal feedback and encouragement directly from me. The goal is simple: To help you begin your tap dance journey with clarity and confidence – and head into 2027 with strong foundations already in place. No previous tap experience is required. You don’t need to arrive with rhythm, coordination or confidence. Those are things we’ll build together 👞 As part of Foundations, you’ll receive:
Already own the course? We have a special discounted price for existing students. Most importantly, you won’t be left wondering what to practice, whether you’re doing it correctly or what you should work on next. I’ll be there to help you – one step and one week at a time. Just TAP: Foundations runs from Monday November 2 to Sunday December 13. Places are limited because I want to keep the group small enough to provide personal guidance and feedback. Enrollment will close on Wednesday October 28 – or sooner if all places are taken. The cost for new students is US$297, and you’ll have the entire first week to make sure the series feels right for you. Explore Just TAP: Foundations and join us here 🚀 If you’ve been waiting for the right time, structure or support to begin, this may be your moment. I’d love to have you with us. More soon, friends! Bill Simpson P.S. Every tap dancer you’ve ever admired began in exactly the same place: with two feet, a first step and no idea where the journey might lead. |

Hello Reader, Happy September! (...gosh, it's September). I’ve been thinking recently... what makes a 'good' tap dancer? Over my years as a tap dance teacher, I've found that people often arrive with a list of things they believe they should already be able to do. Or perhaps, things they don't believe they have enough of. 'I don’t have enough rhythm.' 'I’m not very coordinated.' 'My balance isn’t great.' 'I’m terrible at remembering steps.' 'I’m just not naturally good at this.' I've heard it...
Hello Reader, Finding time to practise tap dance can be tricky 😕 We’re busy people. And between finding a suitable floor, putting on our shoes, choosing something to practise and convincing ourselves that ten minutes is actually worthwhile, sometimes it feels easier not to begin at all. But a worthwhile tap practice doesn’t need to be lengthy or complicated. With one step, a small patch of floor (with or without tap shoes) and even just a few spare minutes, there’s an enormous amount we can...
Hello Reader, In my last email, I told you how ten minutes of tapping helped me reconnect with something I’d been missing. Well, that small return to the floor has grown into something considerably noisier. I’m very excited to introduce you to (🥁) ... TIN SYMPHONY: A 3-Part Tap Dance Masterclass 🍀 Tin Symphony began many years ago, when I was still finding my feet as a tap dancer and choreographer. It was one of the first tap dance patterns I ever created – set to a wonderfully toe-tapping...
