Hello friends,

I've got some fun stuff to share with you today. But before I dive in, there's a question I've been thinking about recently. Maybe you have too: Does Tap Dance even matter any more?

There's a lot happening in the world at the moment (understatement) and no doubt a lot happening in your world too. And of course, with all the unrest, the heaviness of the news cycle, the uncertainty hanging in the air — it’s easy to feel that dance (or art of any kind) sits on the edge of what really matters. That maybe it’s a luxury. Maybe, it even indulgent to focus on our creative practice or hobby when so many serious things are unfolding around us.

I get it. I feel it too.

But here’s what I believe: we need tap dance now more than ever. Not because it’s frivolous, but because it connects us — to rhythm, to movement, to joy. To each other. And perhaps most importantly, to ourselves.

In times of uncertainty, it’s easy to forget the value of curiosity. Of trying something new. Of following a quiet urge to create, to learn, to express, or simply feel something. But these are not small acts. These are courageous, powerful choices. They bring us back to our humanity, and our best selves.

So if you've been feeling a bit ‘off’ lately — disconnected, discouraged, or unsure whether to keep going — I just want to say: I see you. And I hope you will keep going. Keep exploring. Keep dancing. Tap isn’t just a skill to master. It’s a conversation. A practice. A way back to wonder.

New Video! 'The Rehearsal' - A Piano / Tap Dance Duo 🎵 (2 mins)

This one's a bit special...

Early this year, a good friend – an accomplished classical piano player – and I decided to make something together. We weren't sure where it would all lead, but we kept exploring it, and eventually landed on the idea of making a short film to showcase this fun merging of art forms. We would then make the film available to view for free...

And here it is! As you'll see, the final film is just over two minutes long. It's fun, fast and really special. I'm proud of we created here, and am excited to share it with you.
